MERRY CHRISTMAS, HAPPY HOLIDAZ & HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Looking at how long it has been since I've posted something. ...Long time! Guess I have to have a good photo, and this one was perfect for the season. It was taken a couple of weeks ago at the AKC show in Ridgefield, WA (just north of Portland, OR). This is Beringer, World Winner in Salzburg this year. He won over his brother Clouseau twice (has lost to him many times) and the second day Beringer won the Miscellaneous group of several different breeds. The Judge, Bill Shelton, judged the breed many times at ARBA shows in California. It was a very nice win.

Hope everyone is enjoying Christmas and hope too that the New Year will bring joy to all dogs and people alike.....and everything else on the planet.

GIRLS OFF TO NEW HOMES

New Names: Zoey and Mitzi
Zoey and Mitzi

Mitzi's new family

Zoey's new family (Jamaica in photo too)
It was a happy sad day for me to see the girls go but I know they are in the best homes so that makes it all okay. Mitzi (aka Emily) went to Spokane. He new Mom, Dad and new sister :-) started off the day driving at 5 AM for the 5 hour drive to pick her up.
Zoey (aka Madeleine) went to Portland. Since it was so much closer, Zoey's family had visited her before but this time got to go off to her new home. Jamaica was such a good mom and so attentive to every detail that I thought she might go into morning seeing them go but she has been just fine and now plays with Beringer. She gave the ultimate approval. Everyone has checked in and both reported no crying on their first night away. So proud of them for being such brave little girls!

SUNSHINE TODAY, FIRST DAY OUTSIDE

AHHHH Sunshine and warm enough to take the girls out. Madeleine is the adventurous one. Emily whined a little and then got into it. The top two photos are of Madeleine and then Emily, then both in the last photo with Emily out front.

PUPPY PARTY

Friends from work came over in the afternoon yesterday to celebrate Peg and also Puppies. You won't know what that means but that's okay. I made a cheese fondue from scratch. Something I hadn't attempted in years and surprisingly we were able to eat it! Here are some photos of all of us. When we played with the puppies in the kitchen, all the other dogs had to be outside on the deck. We had a great time.

THE GIRLS ASLEEP BY THE FIREPLACE

They have been so easy. Here they are just after a eating. Conked out by a crackling fire.

JAMAICA & BERINGER GIRLS 4 WEEKS

Here are the girls at 4 weeks plus a couple of days. They are now eating the "gruel" that I make up for them. This morning they rolled in it so they also experienced a little quick spot wash at the kitchen sink. They are still nursing too. They are consistently going to the litter to pee and poop....yeah. Both are very smart little girls. They both wag their tails and are happy to see you. They don't seem to care about the vacuum cleaner either. The other dogs are really curious. Beringer is curious too but I don't think he gets the facts of life. All is well.

THE GIRLS

Madeleine and Emily are doing well. Their eyes started to open today (14 days old). The pigment on their noses is coming in well and it looks like they will have the halos around their eyes.

They are starting to pull themselves up on their little legs but mostly crawl and can really scoot around quickly. In the photo to the right, it is Emily on the left and Madeleine on the right.

In the photo below, it is the same. Then, its Madeleine at the bottom in the next photo, and the last photo is of Emily.

Pretty soon we'll get to see their personalities emerge.

So far, they are very quiet and not at all fussy. It's been wonderful to watch Jamaica be a mom. She's so gentle and attentive.

BERINGER AND JAMAICA HAVE TWO GIRLS

Sugar Bay's Beringer and Sugar Bay's Jamaica had two beautiful little girls in the early hours of the morning on Feb. 15th. We thought it would happen onValentine's day and we were really close. Only an hour and 45 min late! They are scooting around, eating and gaining weight as they should. Jamaica was so wonderful during the delivery. She is the most delightful sweet mum. Beringer doesn't have a clue, just hanging out like he normally does. So all is well here at our house.
