Sugar Bay Boys Are Two Weeks Old; eyes starting to open

I'm just now thinking of what names would fit each one of the boys. I haven't  come up with anything definite. They are scooting around and getting up on all fours then toppling. It's fun to watch. I took some photos at 10 and 11 days and again just now at 2 weeks. Two of the boys (#1 and #3) are almost identical in every aspect, with the middle boy (#2) being smaller than the others. As I've learned, size at this age doesn't always predict how big they will be as adults. #1 and #3 have darker skin and you can see it in their ears. They have big fat fat bellies too!

The Boys are Four Days Old

The boys went to the vet (Dr. Michelle Shoemaker) today, to have their front dew claws removed. I didn't know it but it was Michelle's day off. She was there for me on the phone over the week-end during the delivery and has been such a supportive wonderful vet.
I took some photos of the puppies, a few of each one and I'll post them for you to see. A couple are blurry but put them in anyway. As you can see, they are tiny little boys. Even on day 4 their black pigment is already coming in on their little noses.

The Puppies Have Arrived! : All Boys

It's been a long day, which actually started late Friday night with Monet not eating her dinner. Then around 11:00 she started being a bit restless and doing nesting activities. So I stayed up with her and dozed next to her whelping box. She ended up sleeping too until 4 AM when the panting and digging started again, then resting at 7 AM until 9 AM.

The first little boy arrived at 12:30, the second boy at 1:05, the third boy at 2:35. On the phone with my vet when the forth hadn't come and it had been a couple of hours. Monet wasn't in any distress and this can happen without resulting in any problems. I was able to listen to the heart beat with my stethoscope and all looked well. The end result was a very sad one. He was stillborn at 5:45. I buried him outside where he will be with the spring flowers. Monet and I did everything we could and he never came around. The three boys are just gorgeous, they are all white. One has very dark skin on his ears. Here are some pictures of them. I'm going to eat some dinner and go to bed!
